Sixth-grade boys take second

The Kimball boys' sixth-grade basketball team took second place in back-to-back tourneys.

Sunday, Jan. 22, the Kimball sixth-grade boys played in Annandale in a round robin tournament. They defeated Annandale #1 by a score of 32-24 in their first game. They then lost 24-35 to Maple Lake, and then defeated their next twoÊopponents,ÊAnnandale #2, 28-22 and Watertown-Mayer 37-17. They ended the day with a 3-1 record, as did Maple Lake, but because of the tie-breaker, took second place.

Saturday, Jan. 28, they played in Ogilvie and defeated Milaca by a score of 33-11. They then defeated Sauk Rapids White by a score of 33-22. That set up the championship game against Pine City. The boys trailed by 10 at the half, and fought hard in the second half, but fell by a final of 41-36, and took home second place. Thanks to the fans and parents who spent the past two weekends rooting for the boys! Way to play!
