Bruce Loken of Watkins, died May 10, 2011, at his home. He was 63.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins with Rev. Richard Gross officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bruce Loken was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Minneapolis to Clifford and Thea (Anderson) Locken. Following high school, Bruce enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served his country in Vietnam. Bruce was employed as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years. He moved to the Watkins area about 12 years ago, and was united in marriage to Luanne Schneider May 17, 2008, in St. Cloud.
Bruce was active in forming various AA groups and enjoyed attending the Gopher State Roundups and retreats. He was a member of the VFW, and was very proud to have served his country. Bruce loved the outdoors, and he was especially fond of eagles and of his dog Coco. He enjoyed visiting and socializing with family and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife Luanne Loken of Watkins; children Brad Loken of St. Louis Park, Becca Loken of Denver, Colo.; grandson Mason Loken of St. Louis Park; his dog Coco; and many nieces and nephews.
Music will be by Chloe Cutten and Rochelle Larson. Honorary casket bearers will be Roger Tentis, Rod Edslinger, Mike Holter, Paul Gillis, Jeff Gatton, and Harlan Mesedahl.
