Randolph "Randy" Alamo of Watkins, formerly of New Port Richey, Fla., died in a car accident Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2011. He was 27, two days shy of his 28th birthday.
A funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Faupel Funeral Home in Port Richey, Fla. Visitation was from noon-4 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be scheduled in Minnesota at a later date.
Randy Alamo was born May 5, 1983, to Judy Alamo in West Islip, N.Y. Along with his mother and siblings, he moved to Florida in 1992. He attended Calusa Elementary School and Ridgewood High School. He moved to Minnesota in 2009 and married Elizabeth "Lyz" Driessen Feb. 20, 2010.
Randy Alamo II, or "Porkchop" as he was known among friends, came to Minnesota with only the clothes on his back and a few dollars in his pocket. He was a free spirit who wanted to do everything and see everything. Randy left behind a loving wife and beautiful son as well as all the friends whose lives he had touched, and saved. Many did not get to know Randy, to feel the love and loyalty he gave his friends and family, but he truly loved and was truly loved until the end.
Randy is survived by his wife Lyz and son Randolph Alamo III of Watkins; mother Judy Alamo, brothers Sean and Brian Alamo, and sister Lauren Alamo, all of Florida; five nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Tosha.
A trust fund for Randolph Vincent Alamo III, Randy's 10-month-old son, has been established at Wells Fargo. Donations to this trust fund are preferred in lieu of flowers and can be made at any Wells Fargo or Wachovia Bank.
