Thursday, April 21, we had a meet in Sauk Rapids. The boys finished fifth out of five. Monticello, Rocori, Sauk Rapids/Rice and Holdingford were the schools participating. With the exception of Holdingford this meet consisted of some larger schools and the weather was pretty bad. Our boys competed well but due to some tough conditions we only had one personal best by Tyler Swafford in the 800-meter run. The meet was a good meet for great competition.
Thursday, April 28, we had a meet at Maple Lake that consisted of all relays. So other than the field events, everything was relays and therefore no individual's times to report or personal bests. The boys and girls competed well, and the team finished third out of 10 teams. Zimmerman was first, followed by Maple Lake, then EV-W-K. Other teams included were Watertown Mayer, Rockford, HL-W-W, Spectrum, B-B-E, St. Johns prep., and Maple Lake B team.
Friday, April 29, Shawny Kramer represented EV-W-K at the Elite meet at Hamline University. In order to be in this meet an athlete has to be in the top 12 marks of the state in both A and AA classes. Shawny did this in the discus. She was number 12 going into the competiton and came out in sixth place. Shawny represented us well, kept her composure with the high level of competition that was present. Congratulations to Shawny!
We have meets at B-B-E Tuesday, May 3, and St. John's Prep on Friday May 6.
