From Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin
Tuesday, May 3, the Meeker County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Waite Park Police Department advising that they located two four-wheelers and a two-place snowmobile trailer reported stolen in Meeker County on May 2 from two different locations in the rural Watkins area. Three persons were detained for being in possession of the stolen property. An investigator from the Sheriff's Office traveled to Stearns County and spoke with the suspects.
Two of the suspects admitted to being involved in the theft of the two four-wheelers, and also the snowmobile trailer that was stolen at the same time as the second four-wheeler. At the time of their arrest, the suspects were also in possession of a pickup truck that was reported earlier to be stolen in Renville County. Investigation determined the third suspect was not involved and was released with no charges.
Both suspects are being held pending formal charges. The first suspect is a 17-year-old juvenile male from Willmar. The second suspect, currently being held in the Stearns County Jail, is Chase John Hodapp, 20 years of age, also of Willmar. Both of these individuals are also suspects in multiple arson and theft incidents in Kandiyohi County, and the City of Willmar.
