Get on the bone marrow registry list
Every four minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Many will need a bone marrow transplant to survive. About 70 percent of people in need of a transplant do not have a matching donor in their family.
Register to become a donor on March 5 at:
• St. Cloud Hospital, 1406 Sixth Avenue North, (park in the North parking lot/ramp and enter at North lobby), 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aspen Room in the Conference Center; and
• St. Cloud Technical & Community College, 1540 Northway Drive, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Cloud Technical & Community College Commons.
All you need to provide is a cheek swab sample. You will be contacted if you are a possible match for a patient. There is no cost to participate. Candidates should be between the ages of 18 and 44.
If you are a match, the physician will decide what way to donate is best for the patient.
Friday, March 1, the Senior Foot Clinic will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Senior Dining Site at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball.
Appointments need to be scheduled, call (320) 203-6942 for an appointment. Walk-ins only if open appointment times.
