What’s in it for me?
The American Legion has nothing to offer the veterans who think only of themselves. It is a service organization. It is for serving others, consecrated to mutual helpfulness and continued service to God, country and fellow man.
The American Legion can offer you only the opportunity to work hard for those less fortunate than you. It offers you opportunity in doing worthwhile things in gallant and well-organized company, for your community, state, and nation. It can develop your talents for leadership because in no other organization is there sure and speedy recognition of individual accomplishments as in the American Legion. It offers you warm comradeships and enduring friendships which is something money cannot buy.
The Kingston Johnson Kelly American Legion Post #483 and Post Auxiliary members will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Kingston American Legion Hall.
Frederick A. Metcalf American Legion Post 261 and Auxiliary will hold a service to put to rest old faded or torn flags of the United States of America and also POW/MIA flags.
