Create craft at Kimball Library

Make Rock Monster Refrigerator Magnets at Kimball Library

Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to the Kimball Public Library to make Rock Monster Refrigerator Magnets 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12. Visit the library to create goofy, scary, happy or grouchy rock monsters to take home. All materials will be provided. The attendance limit is 12 and preregistration is required.

The program will be repeated at the Annandale Library from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16.

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) provides library services at 32 public libraries in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd and Wright Counties. It provides Central Minnesota residents with nearly 1 million books, CDs and DVDs, 250 public computers, programming and information services.

Library looks for feedback on open hours

Great River Regional Library (GRRL) wants to know when you’d like to use the library.

The library has posted an open hours survey on its website, griver.org.

Staff want to know:

• Which GRRL location you use the most

• Whether you would prefer the library to be open the same hours each day or a range of morning, afternoon, and evening hours

• What day(s) of the week you use the library

• Which day of the week you wish the library was open

• What time of day you are most likely to use the library

• Which time of day you wish the library was open

Michael Stanley at Story Hour

Do you want to learn more about the African Bushmen who live in the Kalahari Desert? Do you want to touch a rhino tail and see the Bushman’s poison arrows?

Stanley Trollip of the Michael Stanley mystery writers duo will be  back at the Eden Valley Area Library at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, during the Story Hour. Stan will visit with the Story Hour kids and will share stories of his experiences and his writings while in the African country of Botswana. The men were at our library May 11 promoting their  mystery books including “Deadly Harvest”, “Death of the Mantis” and “A Carrion Death.” Everyone is invited to join us in this unique experience.

Get your face painted during Kimball Days

Adults, teens and children are invited to add a little pizzazz to their life with face paint during Kimball Days, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

Free, fun, fantastic face painters will be set up on the grass by St. Anne’s Church, located at 441 Hazel Ave. E., Kimball. These professionals will do a great job on as many people as they can get done within the allotted time. This event is sponsored by the Kimball Public Library and funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
