NHS Food Drive April 8-12

The Kimball National Honor Society has been quite busy this spring, or shall we say late winter, season. Friday, March 29, the group gathered at the Kimball Library and diligently cleaned until the shelves and books sparkled. The NHS has also been busy working on other projects at school. Highway ditch cleaning and lawn-care volunteer events are coming up in the near future.

This week (April 8-12) is the annual Food Drive. Grade will be pitted against grade in this week-long competition, judged by the poundage of food brought in, all for a great cause! All proceeds go the Kimball Area Food Shelf. The NHS appreciates all the support from our community. Thank You!

Kimball School Board to consider budget reductions

For the first time in the past three (3) years, the Kimball School Board must make some reductions in order to balance the budget for the 2013-2014 school year.

Reductions during the four (4) years of 2007-2008 to 2010-2011 averaged $230,000 per year.  The operating levy that was passed by the voters in November, 2010 made it possible to get past the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years without needing to reduce staff and/or educational programs.
