KAHS Spring Concert, Art Show May 19

Monday, May 19, the Kimball Area High School Fine Arts Dept. will present their annual Spring Concert and Art Show. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the North Gym and will feature the Elementary Band, Jr. High Band and the 

Sr. High Jazz and Concert Bands. The bands will perform a broad variety of music from Mozart and Handel to jazz and movie music to the most current concert band literature. There should be something to please every musical taste. Art work will be on display in the hallways before and after the concert and all attendees are invited to a reception in the cafeteria following the concert. Admission is free and we invite everyone to come and help us bring in the spring and say “goodbye” to Mr. Haake as he conducts his last concert at KAHS before his retirement after 30 years of teaching in the Kimball Public Schools.


KHS Class of ’69 Reunion

Save the date for KHS Class of 1969 Reunion to be held at Triple R Grill & Bar Saturday, Aug. 2, at 5 p.m. for social hour;  dinner at 6 p.m. Cards will be sent.


KAHS hires new varsity football coach

Annandale resident and St. Cloud North Junior High School sixth-grade science teacher Joe Brennan is the new new football coach-RGBKimball Area High School varsity football coach. Holding circa 10 years coaching experience, Brennan has worked at Big Lake, Dassel/Cokato, Kennedy Community, and St. Cloud Apollo. Joe was raised in, and attended high school at nearby Glencoe, Minn., where he was active in football, wrestling, and track and field. After his 2001 graduation, Brennan went on to St. Cloud State University, majoring in elementary education and playing football for the Huskies. His wife, Nicole, teaches special education at the Annandale Middle School, and they have two young kids, Brooklynn and Zach.


April 2014 Students of the Month

In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners w-studentsMoAprilare recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Dairy Queen gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to the Kimball Chamber of Commerce and a private donor for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for April 2014:


KAHS Senior High Choir Concert May 15

The annual Kimball Senior High Spring Choir Concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15. It will be held in the Cafetorium at the Kimball Area High School. Featured in the concert will be “I Believe” and “Gloria in Excelsis Deo” which earned the choir the State Superior Award, the highest possible award. Many soloists, duets, and trios will also be performed. Metals will be presented to State Superior soloists, as well as certificates to excellent award students.

The public is cordially invited to attend this concert presented by our talented Kimball Area High School students. The director is Arlene Sands, and Lori Miller will accompany some numbers.
