‘Dog Days of Summer’ at Kimball Senior Dining

Catholic Charities Senior Dining of Kimball is holding a special “Dog Days of Summer” on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at St. Anne’s Cafeteria, beginning at 11:15 a.m. coffee/treats.

Bring pictures of your dog (or dogs) either from the past or present.

The following special menu will be served:

• Hot dog on a bun with fixings

• Potato salad

• Barking baked beans

• Puppy chow

Senior Dining offers a nutritious meal in a warm and caring atmosphere with friendship and fun for persons 60 years of age and over.

Mudman event at Powder Ridge Aug. 17

Open to the public

The second annual Mudman Race (Mudman 2013) will be held at Powder Ridge this coming Saturday, Aug. 17.

New this year: Spectators will be allowed to view the race from anywhere on the hill including areas that you have never before seen. Uphill walks will be necessary to view some of the events.

There is no spectator fee for the event, but there is a $10 per car on-site parking fee. With each parking ticket attached will be $3 in FREE food and beverage tickets per car.

There will be concessions as well as a DJ and live music. Carry-on food and beverage is not allowed.

The heats begin at 10 a.m. and the last one starts about 2 p.m.

The event takes place on the hills in front of Powder Ridge and behind, in areas you have never before seen.

Come on out for a day of entertainment and fun.
