Summer programming begins at Kimball Public Library

Ice Cream Social and Book Sale – June 10

The Kimball Public Library invites people of all ages to enjoy magic, ice cream and books at the Ice Cream Social taking place in the Willow Creek Park Shelter from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 10. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program, watch a magic show, and maybe buy a book from the 4-H book sale with all proceeds benefiting the Kimball library. Award-winning comic magician and illusionist Jared Sherlock will entertain the audience at 2:30 p.m. His performance is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Eden Valley Area Library fundraiser Saturday, May 11

Annandale Friends of the Library Author Dinner May 17

The Annandale Friends of the Library 2013 Author Dinner will feature David Housewright. The dinner will take place at Reichel’s Catering and Event Center in Annandale Friday, May 17. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and program at 7 p.m. Ticket price is $25, available at the Annandale Public Library. (No tickets available at the door.) Proceeds go to the Annandale Friends of the Library to support library services.

The free book giveaway is part of World Book Night U.S. (WBN), an ambitious campaign to give thousands of free, specially printed paperbacks to light or nonreaders across America on one day. Great River Regional Library (GRRL) has recruited more than 50 volunteers who will share books at different locations across Central Minnesota such as parks, coffee shops and fitness centers.
