Arnold Vandenheuvel, 83

Arnold Vandenheuvel of St. Cloud, formerly of South Haven died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. He was 83.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 20, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Fr. Victor officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at noon Monday, April 22, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Assembly Area 5.

Arnold William Vandenheuvel was born Jan. 11, 1930, to Anton and Florence (Schaff) Vandenheuvel in Dennison. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was injured during combat and awarded the Purple Heart. Nov. 23, 1959, he was united in marriage to Roselle Mertens at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Arnold worked as a U.S. Postal Service carrier for more than 25 years. In 1965, Arnold and Rose purchased a farm in South Haven and he farmed the land. In 2011, they moved to St. Cloud. Arnold was a former member of the Kingston American Legion Post 483, and St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, farming, helping out at French Lake Auto Parts and planting trees. Arnold had a big heart and loved to help other people.

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Rose; one sister; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.

The urn bearer will be his brother Joe Vandenheuvel. Sarah Goetz will provide the music for the service. The Ft. Snelling National Cemetery Memorial Rifle Squad will provide the military honors. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale

Barbara Riley, 77

Barbara Riley of Kimball died Monday, April 15, 2013, at her home. She was 77.w-Riley-Barbara

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, at the Kimball Church of Christ with Pastor Jon Albert officiating.


Kelly Hartneck, 46

Kelly Hartneck of Buffalo, formerly of Annandale, died unexpectedly April 10, 2013, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He was 46.

Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Church of St. Francis Xavier in Buffalo. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home in St. Michael, with further visitation at the church Monday morning one hour prior to services.


Gerald ‘Jerry’ Raskie, 72

Gerald “Jerry” Raskie of Litchfield died Friday, April 5, 2013, at his home. He was 72.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield with Pastor Bill Kerr officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Interment was in the Lake Ripley cemetery.


Sharon Weizel, 73

Sharon Weizel of Clearwater died Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Koronis Manor Nursing Home in Paynesville. She was 73.W-Sharon-Weizel-2377

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Tri-County Alliance Church near Clearwater with Pastor Anthony Stanley officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Tri-County Alliance Church.
