The scores of the match were 25-12, 25-3 and 25-16, as the Cubs tamed the Lions, who represent the Great River Conference. Kimball first-year coach Scott Heinen is pleased with the opening day effort. “Ogilvie wasW-130827-CubsVBOgilvie-09 a very hospitable opponent on an extremely hot day. We would like to take a moment to thank them.” Heinen continues, “The match was fun and we were fortunate to win all three games. It was great that all of our players were able to play. The coaches of the past at Kimball make our job very easy.” The Cubs came out with a lot of energy and they stayed sharp throughout the match. Teamwork was key in the decisive victory, and it was clear that the girls have made the best out of practice time.

Cubs flattened on the gridiron

The Kimball Cubs grabbed a bus ride to Jordan Friday, Aug. 30, and that was the last thing they would get their hands on that evening. Starting the 2013 season in a non-
W-130830-CubsFBvsJordan-2conference affair with the Jordan Hubmen/Jaguars, the Cubs were left wondering if the 2-nicknamed opponent was playing with a double roster. Suffering a 47-14 loss, the Kimball faithful can only believe things are bound to get better.  The Cubs travel to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa to play the Jaguars in a Central Minnesota game at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.
