Celebration of life

You are invited to a celebration of life party for Ronald Wendroth. He was recently diagnosed with cancer. His children would like him to celebrate his life with his many familyW-Ronald-Wendroth-picture members and friends at Church of God in Eden Valley, Minn., from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Please bring your fun memories, pictures and just your friendship and love. We would love to share this special day with you. He is now in the Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins with Mom.

This is a secret, so help us keep it that way.

New England Pot Roast Dinner to be Oct. 17

The Dassel Area Historical Society is again hosting their annual New England Pot Roast Dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 301 Lake Street East in Dassel.

This, their 16th year, they are serving roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw, homade bread and desserts and beverages. Dinner tickets are $10 for adults,
$5 for children 5-11, and age 4 and younger are free.

The event is to benefit Dassel History Center, home of the Ergot Museum.

Mental Illness Awareness Week is Oct. 6-12

National Mental Illness Awareness Week is Oct. 6-12. This week is marked by community education efforts in all 50 states to raise awareness that mental illnesses are treatable medical conditions, and that there is help and hope for children and adults with mental illnesses and their families. St. John’s dinner Oct. 13

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kimball is planning their fifth annual pork chop dinner and silent auction for 10:30 a.m. to
1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Willow Creek Park Shelter in Kimball.

Ticket prices are $8.50 for adults, children 10 and younger are $5, and children 3 and younger are free.

Auction starts at 11 a.m.
