Summer basketball camp in June

For boys and girls to develop basketball skil

The Kimball basketball programs will be running their summer basketball camps once again this year. Camps are scheduled for the first three weeks of June. 

Students who were in kindergarten, first grade and second grade this past year will have camp from
3-5 p.m. June 3-6, at Kimball Elementary School. 

Students in grades 3-5 this past year will have camp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 10-13, at Kimball Area High School. 

Girls in grades 6-11 this past year will have camp at Kimball Area High School from 1-4 p.m. June 10-13. 

Finally, boys in grades 6-11 this past year will have camp at the high school from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 17-20. All camps will focus on skill development and include a number of individual and team contests and competitions. For more information, contact Kimball Community Education.

KES presented spring concert, May 24

Under the direction of Mrs. Arlene Sands, students in grades K-6 performed their spring concert Friday afternoon, May 24, for friends and family at the Kimball Elementary School gym.  The kindergarten class sang “Ting-a-Lay-O,” “Sing,” and “Shake My Sillies Out.” Below, sixth-graders sang their last Elementary concert; they will graduate Thursday, May 30, to high school. Grade 1: “Let’s Go Fly a Kite,” Down By the Bay,” “You Gotta Sing,” and “Zippity Do Dah.” Grade 2: “Ise Oluwa,” “Abiyoyo,” “Sing a Rainbow,” and “Do Re Mi.” Grade 3: “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “A Spoonful of Sugar,” and “The Peppermint Twist.” Grade 4: “A Whole New World,” “We Go Together,” “At the Hop,” “Over the Rainbow,” and “Do Wah Diddy.” Grade 5: “The Addams Family,” “Choo Choo Ch’ Boogie,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho,” and “Camptown Races.” Grade 6: “My Favorite Things,” “The Rose,” “Footloose,” and “Home.” More photos plus videos of each grade’s performances are posted in our Photo Gallery at Staff photos by Jean Doran Matua.


Kimball Kruisers collecting donations

The Kimball Kruisers 4-H Club is collecting donations of:

• Clean, gently-used books (all reading levels/genres), and

• gently-used DVDs (family-appropriate material)

These donations will be sold at the Third Annual Used Book Sale at the Summer Reading Program Kickoff from 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Park Shelter.


KAHS Awards Day May 24

Awards Day took place at the Kimball Area High School beginning at 8:30 a.m. for the Junior High, and at 10 a.m. for the Senior High, Friday, May 24.

The following are awards for Senior High students:

KAHS bands performed final concert of the year

Monday evening, May 20, the walls shook in the “old gym” at Kimball Area High School. w-KAHS band

First the Jazz Band performed “Look for the Silver Lining,” with soloists Austin Roerick and Hannah Zipoy. Then Brad Mies was featured soloist for “(Everything I Do) I Do it for You.” Their finale was “Get It On.”

The Elementary Band performed “March of the Romans,” “Centurion,” the rock tune “25 or 6 to 4,” and “Jubilee.”
