Holy Cross School competed in WILD Country 99’s “Wild About Reading” contest in February and ended up the winner! The contest asked the schools to get their community to go to the radio’s website and vote for the school they thought should win the prize of $1,500 for the school library. Holy Cross School was awarded $1,500 for the library! Holy Cross Catholic School raises $8,040 through Catholic United Financial Raffle
Students at Holy Cross Catholic School could relax and celebrate Thursday, after raising a grand total of $8,040 for their school this year through the Annual Catholic Schools Raffle.
Here are some questions for you: What is the body portion of the butterfly marking? Answer – Nosefork. What’s the act of giving birth by rabbits? Answer – Kindle or Kindling. According to color genetics how many colors of domestic rabbits are there? Answer - 2 - Black and Chocolate. Wow! There sure is a lot to know and these are just three examples of the questions answered by six Meeker County 4-H’ers as they participated in the Regional Rabbit Bowl Contest held on Saturday, March 2, in Foley. Our Junior Team competed against 11 other teams from across the state. This team was new to project bowl competition and did a great job! Congratulations on your achievements!

State Bee goes 26 Rounds; Emma Greenlee advances to Nationals – Again
It took 26 rounds, and a demonstration of impressive spelling skill before Emma Greenlee, an eighth-grader from Mesabi East-Aurora, captured the title of Champion by correctly spelling emblema. Emma was also the 2012 Multi-Region State Bee Champion. Millie Piper, an eighth-grader from Fulda School, was named First Runner-Up.
