The American Red Cross visited Eden Valley on Wednesday, May 15. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out in your own special way.
Thank you to the Legion and the Legion Auxiliary for serving in the canteen and picking up the tab for the snacks. Thank you to the members of the Church of God for serving the meal for the workers. Thanks to the American Dairy Association for the donation of the butter and cheese. Thank you to all who helped advertise; the Tri-County News, EV-W Voice, other local papers, marquee, churches, local businesses, radio and television stations.
A warm-hearted “Thank You” to the donors. Ninety-eight donors came to donate; 10 were first-time donors. The American Red Cross deferred 13 donors. Four donors took part in a double red cell donation. The end result was 83 total units collected, which was under goal, but with the sun being out and farms and construction workers in full force, we had a feeling that turnout would be lower than normal. Thank you for making blood donating a routine in your life.
The American Red Cross is always looking for new donors (there was a fabulous group of you this time) and donors who have not given for a while to come out and donate that lifesaving blood that runs in all of us.
The next scheduled Blood Drive in Eden Valley is Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eden Valley, and Watkins has a drive on Wednesday, July 24.
