Thank you, mayor Loch, for your personal donation to the Watkins pool fund by hosting a free day of swimming for everyone Sunday, July 28. The turnout was GREAT, more than 60 people enjoyed free swimming, refreshments and lots of fun. Also, thank you to our mayor’s wife Pam. To everyone who came out to swim and support the pool, thank you all! It is thrilling to see the pool full and everyone having just a good time. Hearing the kids ask if they can please stay longer, truly sends a message how important the pool is to our children and community. Thank you again for makin’ a splash happen for the Watkins Swimming Pool!

A big thank you to the local businesses of Kimball, South Haven and Annandale for their generous donations towards the South Haven Days celebration.
Thank you, Audrey, for fixing our bean bags again this year.
Our exchange student, Malina Röttgermann went back to Germany about one month ago. I would like to say thank you to the community for being so welcoming to her. Malina had an amazing year here in Kimball. She truly loved her teachers and the staff at Kimball Area High School. She met so many friends and they all played an important part during her exchange year, she loved you all! Once again, thank you
Kimball, for being so welcoming to Malina and all the exchange
students that come to this area.
Many new students will be arriving and they are in need of host families, if anyone is interested in hosting, please give Karla Ehlinger a call at (320) 398-5903.

Kimball Community Playhouse would like to thank everyone who attended our production of “Footloose” this past weekend, July 12-14. We were overwhelmed by the response and the attendance numbers were some of the best we’ve seen in several years. Opening night had a ticket count of 186 and the next two performances were each over 150. Those numbers don’t include the incredible number of volunteers who stepped forward this year to make the show a success and we are incredibly grateful for their support. We also owe a huge debt of gratitude to local businesses who donated their valuable time, resources and supplies to this production, including Images by Marguerite, Chickadee Tree Floral and the Tri-County News in Kimball, Vern’s Auto Repair, The Red Goat in Watkins, and Kris Nelson, Kris’s Screen Printing in South Haven.
Thank you to Kimball H.S., including the amazing custodial staff, and Kimball Community Ed. for the partnership and generosity they have shown in allowing us stage “Footloose”. Also, to Royalton H.S. for lending us a drum set. Of course, we wouldn’t have had the successful show we had without our talented cast and crew. They had a limited time frame to put this show together and they worked very hard to stage a production we can all be proud of. Finally, to the parents and families of cast and crew, we are so appreciative of the time you take out of your busy lives to bring your kids to rehearsals and shows. “Footloose” would not have happened without your patience and support!
