The Cokato Museum and Historical Society invites the public to an open house at the museum 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 17, to celebrate the 135th Birthday of Cokato.
This open house will debut the museum’s latest temporary display, Cokato Is Open for Business, a look at some of the many businesses that have called Cokato home over the last century-and-a third.
Numerous collectibles, photographs, and other items will highlight some of the over 500 businesses that have been in Cokato. Some were open for decades; others only a couple of years. Regardless of tenure all of them contributed to the vitality of Cokato’s economy. This display is an attempt to reflect that vitality and story. Cokato is Open for Business runs through Memorial Day, 2013.
The public can also see the upgrades the museum has been making to its permanent exhibit gallery, some of which have been months in the making.
