The Valley Victors 4-H Club held their September pizza party and election of officers Monday,
Sept. 9, at the Eden Valley Event Center. Roll call was name your favorite part of 4-H over the past year. The club discussed their goals and plans for the next year. The club’s project/area of interest for the next year is wildlife. The 2013-14 club officers are: Shelby Kuechle-president, Arnie Gruenes-vice president, Greg Lux-secretary, Mckenna Ludwig-treasurer, Sawyer Kuechle-reporter, Adrienne Lipinski-photographer/historian, and James Gathje-game leader.
Thank you to the 2012-13 club officers on a job well done. Thank you to Bridget Lux for being the club’s key leader for the past three years. Also, thanks to Lisa Ludwig and Ann Lemke for filling that position. The next meeting will be Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Steve and Carrie Ludwig residence.

The Kingston Lions are planning a Blood Drive to be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Kingston Community Center. The location is 30840 722nd Avenue in Kingston.

The First Annual Klover Klomp 5K Run/Walk and 1K Fun Run for the kids will be Saturday, Oct. 12, sponsored by the Kimball Kruisers 4-H Club.
The Schedule of events include 8 a.m. registration; 9 a.m. 5K race begins; 10 a.m. 1K race begins;
11 a.m. awards ceremony. Awards will be given to the top male and female in each age division. Participants will receive a free T-shirt. Late registrants are not guaranteed a T-shirt or a kids’ medal.
Fee before Sept. 30: 5K – $20;
1K – $10
Fee after Sept. 30: 5K – $25;
1K – $15
Watkins Lions president Scott Picerillo presented Glenn Pauls with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. Glenn has been an active Lions Club member For several years. He serves the community by volunteering his time, and as a business owner he donates to many events and quietly states, “I don’t need a thank you, it’s just what I do.“
The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award is a nationally recognized award, and is the highest award given to a Lions member. Congratulations Glenn, and thank you for everything you do for Watkins and this community.
