KAHS Senior Choir performed May 19

The Kimball Area High School Senior Choir held their spring concert Sunday, May 19, in the high school cafetorium. Many of the selections performed were from the musicals “Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserables.” The evening started with Kaitlyn Truenow performing “Think of Me” with Caleb Anderson, Ryan Luitjens and Brady Mehr as backup 
singers. The full Choir opened the concert with “Everybody Sang.” Solos were performed by Bridgette Anderson, “Far from the Home I Love,” Brady Mehr, “Danny Boy,” Ariel Laabs, “On My Own,” Danielle Helgeson, “I Dreamed a Dream,” Caleb Anderson, “Only Hope,” Shelby Schiefelbein, “Castle On a Cloud,” Ryan Luitjens, “Stars,” and Holly Dahlinger, “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Camen Markgraf and Logan Bartholomew sang a duet, “Your Guardian Angel.” “All I Ask of You” was performed by an ensemble whose members were Bridgette Anderson, Holly Dahlinger, Danielle Helgeson, Savanna Gohmann, Caleb Anderson, Ryan Luitjens, and Brady Mehr. The full Choir also performed a medley from “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and rounded out the evening with a rendition of “America.” The choir is directed by Arlene Sands and technical support was provided by Lori Miller.

KES Spring Concert May 24

Kimball Elementary will present its elementary spring concert Friday, May 24, in the gym. All grades K-6 will perform along with some piano players, and vocal soloists. The concert will start at 1:15 p.m. Come hear these future Kimball citizens sing.
The director is Arlene Sands.
KES third-graders get visit from Hanowski

The third graders at KES had a special visitor on Monday, May 6. Ben Hanowski, who now plays in the NHL, stopped by 
to meet and talk to the students on Monday. It has been a very eventful year for Hanowski, former SCSU forward. The SCSU Huskies made their first appearance in the “Frozen Four” National Championship in April. Immediately following the tournament he signed with NHL’s Calgary Flames. He scored his first NHL goal against the Minnesota Wild.
Grandma Gwen volunteers at KES

Gwen Caird, better known to KES students as “Grandma Gwen,” has volunteered in elementary classrooms more than 500 hours this school year. In this picture, she’s working one-on-one with a first grader. She works through the Catholic
