Progress on our secondary construction project continues as expected. All of the demolition and renovations to infrastructure have been completed in the Performing Arts area. The electricians are hanging the lights, painting the covers and inserting a red lens, mounting electrical and media outlets, and plan to finish their phase by the end of the week. Painting has been completed on the walls and ceiling, and the doors will be completed in the next day or two. We anxiously await the installation of the flooring and final completion of this part of our project.
A final inspection and approval of the burnished block walls of Brook's Street Lobby has been completed, and the walls will be sealed very soon. Painting is taking place in the offices, reception area, nursing, and conference room. We have a few remaining office windows to install and they will be shipped at the end of the week. The mechanical contractors continue their progress with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to the offices, lobby, and gymnasium.
Please stop in for a visit with your questions and comments, and be sure to exercise caution when you're in the proximity of the construction zone.
A committee of Eden Valley-Watkins faculty, students, parents, and community members has been assembled to take a closer look at the use of technology within the district. Specifically, they are examining the types of tools being employed within the classroom and making recommendations on the direction our school system should proceed in regards to technology for the future.
In order to assist this work, input is being solicited from parents to provide information not only on the types of tools presently being utilized at home, but share recommendations on technology which should be considered for implementation with students. To provide feedback, parents are asked to complete a short survey at the following site: http://goo.gl/1ZQp0
Questions pertaining to the survey or process may be directed to either Bruce Kiehn, principal, or Denise DeJuliannie, technology support assistant, at your convenience. We thank you in advance for your participation in this important work. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
