Jeanette DeRose of Richmond died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 58.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Hope Covenant Church at 336 4th Ave. S. in St. Cloud. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Wenner Funeral Home at 151 Oakwood Ave. SE in Richmond. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Monday morning at the church. Burial will be in the North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Jeanette DeRose was born Dec. 29, 1953, in St. Cloud to Arthur and R. Evelyn (Bell) Kurtz. She graduated from Eden Valley-Watkins High School in 1972, and Mounds-Midway School of Nursing in 1975. She married Jim DeRose May 22, 1976, in St. Cloud. Jeanette and her husband owned Riverside Resort in Richmond, Riverside Inn in Cold Spring, and Riverside Aloha in Hawaii. Her motto was "give roses to the living." Jeanette was a fun-loving woman of God who modeled unwavering faith, kindness, generosity, and hospitality to all who knew her. Jeanette enjoyed traveling, and she cherished every moment with her family.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 36 years Jim; daughters Jennifer (and Larry) Aue, Jessica (and Brian) Monsen; son Joseph (and Christina); brother Glenn (and Shannon) Kurtz; sisters Elaine (and Ron) Holmer, Florence (and Tom) Threet; grandchildren Caleb, David and Tyler.
Memorials are preferred.
