Elveria "Toots" Capes of Kimball died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012. She was 87.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Church of Christ in Kimball with Pastor Jon Albert officiating. Burial will follow at the Fair Haven Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Elveria "Toots" Marie Capes was born May 11, 1925, at Hamel to Elmer and Clarinda (Pumarlo) Berthiaume. She married William "Bud" Capes Sept. 21, 1944, at Hamel and they farmed in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County, where they raised their three children. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, fishing and knitting. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Toots was preceded in death by her husband; and brother Harold.
She is survived by her children Richard (and Sharon), Darlene (and Tom) Rosenow, and Randy, all of South Haven; sister Fern Berthiaume of Maple Lake, brothers Lloyd Berthiaume of Hamel, and Edwin (and Shirley) Berthiaume of Osseo. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Rich, Jason, Stacy, and Kim Capes, Steve and Scott Rosenow.
Memorials are preferred to the Kimball Area Fire Department.
