Dora Eaton of Braymer, Mo. and formerly of Kimball, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer. She was 88.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. at Braymer Christian Church with Terry Haley officiating. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer.
Dora E. Eaton was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Ray County, Mo., to John and Mary (Horn) Fitzwater. Oct. 19, 1942, she was united in marriage to Arthur McBee in Cowgill, Mo. He preceded her in death June 30, 1979. Dec. 4, 1982, she was united in marriage to Merton Eaton in Braymer, Mo. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2006. She was a member of the Braymer Christian Church, the Golden Girls, Red Hatters, and the Sunshine Girls.
She was the baby of 13 children, and was the last surviving one. Dora was a loving mother and grandmother.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur McBee; and husband Merton Eaton; six brothers; six sisters; one son James McBee; one daughter Elizabeth Leabo; one granddaughter Debra Leabo; one great-great granddaughter Gerica Sue Lynn; and one stepson Larry McIntyre.
She is survived by four sons Kenneth McBee of Breymer, Carl (and Marsha) McBee of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Edward (and Pat) McBee of Braymer, Dennis (and Sonya) McBee of Mooresville, Mo.; two daughters Judy (and Bill) Shoop, and Janice Venneman, both of Chillicothe, Mo; 39 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; and 64 great-great grandchildren.
Music was by the Sunshine Girls. Her grandsons were pallbearers. Arrangements were by Lindley Pitts Funeral Home of Braymer, Mo.
