Eden Valley Library looking for volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to work three-hour shifts at the new Eden Valley Area Library. You need to be 18 or older to work the desk. If 17 and under, you will be able to help with organizing, replacing returned materials, and helping with some light cleaning. We plan to schedule two people for each three-hour shift. We are very flexible, and can work around a variety of schedules.

If you can volunteer for even one or two shifts per week or even per month, that would be very helpful!

We are, at this time, still somewhat under construction. Because of that, we will still be doing all paperwork and checking materials in and out by hand. When insulation is done and electrical work completed, we will add' computers for patrons use and will utilize an on-line catalog system. The majority of the books have been marked and are up on shelves, so we are hoping to have the library open and avalailable to the community for a variety of hours. Duties would include helping patrons find books, and checking in and out (by hand at this time). We will need someone to do light cleaning once a week. All ages can help with planned events such as the "Story Hour" now being held twice a month.

Please contact Kathy DeForrest if you are interested in giving some time to your community! catskattery
