Randy Schreifels, Stearns County Auditor-Treasurer, announces that absentee balloting for the Nov. 6, General Election will begin on Friday, Sept. 21.
Stearns County residents can cast their absentee ballot in person at the Auditor-Treasurer's Office, located in the Stearns County Administration Building, Room #148, 705 Courthouse Square,
St. Cloud, 56303. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office will be open for absentee balloting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and until 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. Monday, Nov. 5, is the last day to cast an absentee ballot in person.
Absentee balloting may also be done by mail. Absentee ballot applications can be obtained online at www.co.stearns.mn.us, or by contacting the Auditor-Treasurer's office for an application to be mailed or faxed. Absentee ballot applications can be returned by mail to the Auditor-Treasurer's office at the above address, or fax it to (320) 656-3916.
In order to vote by absentee ballot, one of the following requirements MUST be met:
Absence from precinct on election-day
Illness or disability
Religious discipline or observance of religious holiday
Service as an election judge in another precinct
Eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by federal or state government
