EV-W-K cross country results



The EV-W-K cross country team competed at the Sauk Rapids-Rice Invitational meet Thursday, Sept. 6.  Teams at the meet were Sauk Rapids-Rice, St. Cloud Tech, St. Cloud Apollo, St. Cloud Christian School, St. Cloud Cathedral, Rocori and Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball.

In the girls' varsity race, Grace Kopitzke placed 23rd in a time of 19:49, Kendra Atherton 25th-20:27, Maria Roeser 27th-20:40, Stephanea Roeser 23rd-21:00, Madison Libbesmeier 31st-20:51, and Paiten Schreiner 33rd-24:57. The GV team results were St. Cloud Cathedral first, St. Cloud Tech second, Sauk Rapids-Rice third, St. Cloud Apollo fourth, and EV-W-K fourth.

In the girls' JV race, Raelynn Callander took first place with a time of 17:46, Denzel Atherton 4th-18:46, Malina Röttgermann sixth-19:00, Marisa Johnson seventh-19:09, Taylor Schreiner 17th-20:20, Kelsey Libbesmeier 28th-21:06, Lauren Libbesmeier 30th-21:39, Seahara Mancini 33rd-22:08, Alissa Jones 39th-23:32, Hannah Zipoy 42nd-23:34, Kristen Howe 45th-24:07 and Erika Johnson 49th-24:51. The girls' JV team took first place, St. Cloud Tech second, Rocori third, St. Cloud Cathedral fourth, and Sauk Rapids-Rice fifth.

In the boys' JV race, Bret Mattice placed eighth in a time of 21:04, Tyler Neu 23rd-22:21, and Cameron Flaschenreim 49th-26:40.

In the girls' junior high race, Hannah Ehlinger placed 11th in a time of 16:53, Sonora Mattice 14th-17:18, Katie Gaslin 16th-17:39, and Hannah Holmberg 17th-!7:56.

In the boys' junior high race, Matthew Notch place eighth in a time of 13:54. The boys' and girls' JH races were 3200 meters.

The EV-W-K runners did a very good job, many of them taking time off their previous race times.

To have a complete team in any race, a team must have at least five runners in that race to score as a team. The five top runners for a team are scored with the sixth and seventh runners used to break a tie. The boys' varsity and JV races are 5000 meters; the girls' varsity and JV races are 4000 meters and the Junior High race varies in length.
