Mary Estes of Watkins died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at her home in Watkins. She was 69.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at the church cemetery.
Mary Margaret Estes was born Aug. 4, 1943, to Leo and Vera (Brunko) Pherigo in Litchfield. Throughout her life, Mary lived in Lincoln, Neb., Falls City, Neb., and Watkins, Minn. She attended Eden Valley High School and was married to Keith Estes Dec. 29, 1984, in Verdon, Neb. She worked as a waitress and a cook at several restaurants, and was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church of Fairhaven. Mary enjoyed puppies, crocheting, camping, spending time on the computer, going to yard sales, having her coffee, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She will be rememberd for her fun and unique personality.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Vera; brother Leroy, and brother-in-law Gary.
She is survived by her husband Keith of Watkins; children Mark (and Traci) Estes of Lincoln, Neb., Paul Estes of Watkins, and Lori (and Bryon) Terriell of Texas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister Joann Reikofski of Watkins.
