Martha Jurgens of South Haven died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. She was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow the funeral at the Fair Haven Cemetery.
Martha Bernice Jurgens was born Nov. 24, 1939, at Snellman in Becker County to Ludwig and Violet (Nurmi) Hillstrom. She married George "Roger" Jurgens July 20, 1952, in Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven, and he preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2011. She was a homemaker and farmed along with her husband. Martha was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, and was a former member of the Fair Haven Lioness Club. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and baking bread.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sister Lydia Johnson; and an infant brother.
She is survived by her four children Roland (and Betty) of Clearwater, Robert (and friend Cindy) of South Haven, Kathleen (and Darrel) Kotila of Litchfield, Susan Froelich of Fargo; 12 grandchildren Shannon Bollman, Stacy Jurgens, Stephanie Danger, Corinne Weyer, Crystal Larson, Catherine Jurgens, Jennifer, Daniel and Matthew Kotila, Candace Engelson, Rachel Voight and Heather Froelich; 15 great-grandchildren Naomi and Jack Bollman, Delainy and Sawyer Danger, Gunnar, Gilda and Greta Larson, Hayden Weyer, Jayante, Kailee and Preston Kotila, Quinten and Kyza Engelson, Wesley and Isabelle Voight.
The pallbearers will be her grandchildren and the organist will be Lynn Hoff, with special music by Martha's great-grandchildren.
