Raymond Geislinger of Waite Park died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at St. Cloud Hospital. He was 94.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park with Rev. Vincent Lieser officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery in Waite Park. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and after noon Saturday at the church. Parish prayers were at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Raymond J. Geislinger was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Watkins to George and Theresa (Papberg) Geislinger. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Ray married Mildred R. Lang June 21, 1949, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. He was employed as a sheet metal worker by Franklin Manufacturing for 35 years, retiring in 1982. Ray also was an independent home contractor. He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428, and St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622. Ray enjoyed woodworking, whittling, fishing, playing cards, and going to the casino. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, son John, brothers Leo and Clem, and sister Angeline Salzer.
He is survived by his wife Millie; children Jean (and Richard) Kraus of Marcell, Mary Geislinger of St. Paul, and Bob (and Donna) Geislinger of St. Joseph; six grandchildren: Rick (and Angie), Christopher (and Annie), Jennifer (and Jason), Adam, Jake, Alex, Paige and Amber; sister Ann Thelen of Rooseville; and sister-in-law Lucille Geislinger of Cold Spring.
