Fudge brownies

1 stick butter
6 TBSP cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup flour
walnuts or pecans (optional)

(Reduce sugar a little if you want extra-chocolatey brownies that aren't so sweet.)

Partly melt butter in bowl (10-15 seconds in microwave). Stir in cocoa and mix well. Blend in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each one. If adding nuts, add them with the flour. Mix well.

Bake in greased 8" or 9" square pan at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. (Don't overbake or they'll be dry and hard.)
