Clarence Jensen of Kimball died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, from injuries received in a car accident in Litchfield. He was 89. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Ostmark Lutheran Church in Forest City Township (Meeker County) with Rev. Marion Rova officiating. Burial followed in he church cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the church. A prayer service was held at the funeral chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clarence Donald Jensen was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Kingston Township (Meeker County) to Chris and Marie (Abrahamson) Jensen. He married Viola Hokkala on Jan. 12, 1945. Clarence was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during World War II. He lived in the Kimball area all of his life and he farmed there until retiring in 1984. From 1984-2002 Clarence and Viola lived on Lake Francis in South Haven. They had recently moved to the new townhomes in Kimball. Clarence was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church and Johnson Kelly Legion Post #483. He loved his family and enjoyed horses, hunting and fishing. Clarence was preceded in death by his son Alan, daughter Sharon Robinet and grandson Roger, and three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his sons Bryan (and Jean) Jensen of Madera, Calif., and Roger (and Sandra) Jensen of Hamel; sisters Dorothy Strom of Bloomington and Hazel Brown of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were Clarence Jewell, Larry Jensen, Dan Jensen, Michael Jensen, George Jensen and Wally Strand. Organist for the funeral was Vicki Toutges. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
