Kimball Legion does gift baskets

With Veterans Day 2012 behind us, the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary has two ways to continue to honor our Veterans.

Did you know there is a “Baby Boom” at the Minneapolis VA hospital?  That’s right, babies being born to our female veterans and the wives of our veterans! To help out, we are putting together Baby Shower gift baskets. We would like to invite the Kimball community to help fill these baskets with gifts. You can fill your own basket/gift bag or bring in items to put with ours. Any items you would give for a new baby are appreciated. Blankets, clothes, bibs, diapers, bath supplies etc. All items must be new.

Across America and right here in Minnesota we have many homeless veterans who are transitioning into permanent housing. To help make their transition smoother, the American Legion Auxiliary is putting together house-warming gifts. Laundry baskets filled with all the supplies you need when moving into your own home. Items like laundry and dish soap, cleaning products, mops and brooms, flashlights, batteries, paper and pens, paper towels and toilet paper, tooth brushes and tooth paste or anything you think would be helpful would all be appreciated! All items must be new.

Donations for both the baby shower and the house warming will be accepted at the Kimball Legion Club during regular business hours until Jan. 27. Please remember our veterans!
