Officers learned that a verbal altercation had taken place between the victim and Smith which escalated into a physical confrontation. Dur that confrontation, Smith struck the victim in the face with a rake used for spreading out rocks as part of the roofing project.
Warren Smith was arrested and booked INTO the Stearns County Jail on a charge of second-degree assault. St. Cloud Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance paramedics provided medical care, but the victim refused further treatment.
