EV Holiday community gathering Dec. 13

Kingery Family Singers to perform

The Community Holiday Gathering is sponsored by the Eden Valley Healthy Communities Group and will be held at the Eden Valley Event Center from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. We will be selling chicken noodle soup and/or chili for $2/cup, and serving hot chocolate, hot cider, and holiday cookies, and accepting foodshelf donations.

Entertainment planned through the evening at the Event Center includes performances by the EV-W Band and Choir from
6-7 p.m., a “Night Before Christmas” program featuring local kids at 7 p.m., performance by the Kingery Family Singers from
7:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by Christmas music by local pianists.

There will also be children’s craft projects through the night that kids are invited to participate in. The Eden Valley Area Library will be open for people to visit and become acquainted with as well. We invite everyone to come, bring foodshelf donations, and spend an evening of socializing and meeting their neighbors and friends as we wait for the Holiday Train’s arrival. The CP Rail Holiday Train is scheduled to arrive at about
9 p.m., with the entertainment on the train scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m. Performances this year will be by The Claytones and by Tracey Brown.

The Eden Valley Lions Club will be serving hot cider and the Eden Valley Legion Post 381 will be serving hot chocoloate and holiday cookies near the railroad crossing. Foodshelf donations will be collected at the Event Center as well as at the Railroad Crossing. CP Rail will also be presenting the Eden Valley Area Foodshelf with a check for $1,000.

We do have complimentary bags, supplied by CP Rail, available at city hall to use for foodshelf donations if people are interested in picking one up before the 13th.
