KAHS November Students of the Month

In order to recognize achievement, outstanding progress, and responsible behavior in our student body, grade-level teams made up of teachers select one Kimball Area High School student in each grade to be recognized as the Student of the Month. The monthly winners are recognized in school, on the school website, and in the Tri-County News. They also receive a Subway gift certificate and Chamber Bucks from the Kimball Area Chamber of Commerce. Special thanks to Luxemburg’s Subway and the Kimball Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this program. The following students are recognized for November 2012:

Grade 7-Michael Binsfield

Michael is a polite and mature young man. He knows what is expected of him and follows through by doing well in class. On the occasion that he doesn’t quite meet our expectations, he accepts the consequences or correction. Being respectful of and helpful to his peers and staff alike are other characteristics we appreciate about Michael.

Grade 8-Tyler Konz

Tyler Konz was chosen for November’s eighth-grade student of the month. Tyler has a great attitude and is a positive influence in the classroom. Tyler is respectful to adults and his peers, and has a genuine personality. Tyler is consciences about his work and always puts forth a great effort to be successful. His actions show he has a positive attitude about school, his friends, and activities. We also can’t forget to mention his genuine smile that doesn’t go unnoticed! Good Job Tyler!

Grade 9-Kaitlyn Truenow

Kaitlyn Truenow has been selected as ninth-grade student of the month because she is a good classroom leader, fully prepared for learning and asks proper questions. Kaitlyn is willing to try new ways of completing projects, shows maturity, is reliable and trustworthy. She has worked hard to push herself in her educational experience at KAHS.

Grade 10-Krista Anderson

Krista is a very dedicated student. She is thorough, responsible and never needs a reminder to get her work done. She advocates for herself and is helpful to other students as well. She is a role model to other students because of her positivity and her work ethic.

Grade 11-Tessa Mackereth

Tessa Mackereth has been selected for November’s Student of the Month in the junior class. This year, Tessa has demonstrated all the qualities of an excellent role model for other students. She is hard working in class, uses her time extremely well to complete assignments, and is always positive toward her peers and teachers. Furthermore, Tessa takes responsibility for her learning because even when she may be challenged by a concept, she isn’t afraid to ask the questions for clarification. Because Tessa has put her academics first here at school, and because she is willing to work with any of her peers, Tessa should be congratulated for her tremendous efforts on being nominated this month.

Grade 12-Conner Hansen

All it takes is a hallway conversation with Conner, and your day is brightened. Conner goes out of his way to say hello to those around him as he also tries to make them laugh. The grade 12 teachers chose to recognize Conner this month because of his efforts as a teaching assistant. He is a skillful assistant who has built important connections with the teachers and students he works with in his TA role. In the classroom, Conner advocates well for himself, asking questions and seeking assistance when needed.
