John Reagan of St. Cloud, formerly of Eden Valley, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. He was 95.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the Church of Our Lady in Manannah with Msgr. Francis Garvey officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Burial will be at the parish cemetery in Manannah.
John Patrick Reagan was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Manannah Township to Michael and Anna (Neidermeier) Reagan. He worked as a farmhand until Jan. 23, 1942, when he entered the U.S. Army at the age of 26. John trained at Fort Knox, Ky. From there, without a furlough, he was sent to North Africa where he was wounded twice (receiving two Purple Hearts). John spent a long time in a hospital in North Africa, from there he was sent to a hospital in Pennsylvania. He was later sent to the St. Cloud VA where he had another long stay and was later discharged with a 100-percent disability. John was a member of The Church of Our Lady, Manannah, and the Eden Valley American Legion Post #381. John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Mike and Philip Reagan; sister Lucille Dillon and infant sister Lucille. He is survived by his sister Margaret Snyder of Mantua, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley.
