Classroom of the Week: Mrs. Forsman's 2nd Grade

There are 19 students in our class.

This year we'll strive to do our personal best and encourage our friends, too. We'll learn what it feels like to be successful students as we gain tons of reading, writing, math, science, social studies, health, music, phy-ed, and technology skills! Already we've learned to add and subtract with regrouping, mastered lots of new words, written and typed fables, learned about eating healthy with Little D the dragon, experimented with and created rotation in many ways, shown strong teamwork, and even dissected a virtual owl pellet, and that's only the beginning of what we've accomplished!w-Forsman class

One of our social studies units in second grade is "Now and Then," comparing and contrasting our lives today with life 10, 20, 50, and even 100 years ago. We plan to spend a day at Pioneer Park in Annandale to immerse ourselves in history and experience what life was like "back then."

We have a great group of kids in our class this year! When someone needs help, several friends are ready to step up. When someone achieves a big goal, we all cheer and congratulate him/her. Teamwork is one of our strongest qualities as a class this year. Every student has so many unique gifts to share, and by putting us all together, we can really shine!
