Established in 1988, the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award (Triple “A” Award) is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a “B” or better grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities. Austin is a three-sport athlete participating in football, basketball and baseball. Austin has been on the CMC Academic All-conference team in both football and basketball. He also participates in band and received a superior rating in last year’s solo/ensemble contest. Hannah has participated in volleyball, cross country, girls’ basketball, softball and golf. She was earned the CMC Academic All-Conference award during the cross country, basketball, and golf seasons. She was also co-captain on the cross country team this past fall. In fine arts, she participates in speech, visual arts and band. This past year she also participated in the solo/ensemble contest. Triple “A” Award recipients are selected by a multi-level process involving the League’s member schools and administrative regions. League officials will announce the four award recipients (a girl and a boy from both a Class “A” and Class “AA” school) at an on-court recognition ceremony held Saturday, March 23, 2013. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.
