56-19 victory. Winning coach Tom Jansen was excited about the win. “The girls were really focused on the game and did a good job mentally preparing for the game. They came out very strong, and really worked hard and made things difficult for B-B-E with pressure defense.”
The half-time break pretty much revealed what the final outcome would be, as the Eagles pounced to a commanding 45-13 lead. “The first half had numerous positives but also exposed some mental breakdowns that we need to correct in order to keep getting better each game. Our energy dropped significantly in the second half, another concern we must address, but we are also able to get all our girls in the game and getting playing experience which is a valuable teaching tool,” said Coach Jansen. Dani Nelson and Courtney Dilley led the Eagles in scoring with
15 and 13, respectively. Brook Stang had 7 points and Missy Kummet contributed 6. Greta Stommes and Holly Schumacher each tallied 4, Mikayla Kummet added 3 points and Mindy Forcier and Maria Holdvogt each had 2. EV-W will host Paynesville Area on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and travel to Rockford on Thursday, Jan. 10.
