EV-W girls’ basketball can’t hold off Annandale

The EV-W Lady Eagles basketball team fell short in the Annandale Holiday Invitational opener last week. The Annandale Cardinals scored 59 points and held the visiting Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles to 52 in the Cardinals non-league victory last Friday. Senior center Courtney Dilley topped the EV-W Lady Eagles scorers in the road trip loss, tossing in 26 points. Sophomore forward Greta Stommes tallied 7; Brook Stang, sophomore guard, and Missy Kummet, senior guard, each ended with 4, while junior forward Dani Nelson added 10 of her own. The Eagles (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against the Crookston Pirates, who enter the non-league contest with a 5-2 record.
