Cubs move to 2-0 in Conference with win over Eagles

The Kimball Cubs traveled to Eden Valley last Thursday, Jan. 3, to take on the Eagles in a Central Minnesota Conference matchup. The Cubs jumped out to an early lead by playing with a lot of energy and emotion in this rivalry game. Eden Valley-Watkins answered the Cubs quick start. They slowed the pace of the game by playing a tough 2-3 zone defense that gave the Cubs problems. The teams were tied at 19 at the half.
In the second half, Kimball shot the ball much better (12/20, 60 percent) from the field and the charity stripe (13/17, 76 percent). The Cubs played very well defensively after intermission and built their lead to 18 points at one point. The final score was Kimball 58, Eden Valley-Watkins 46.

Mathias Hennen led the Cubs in scoring with 15. Cameron Hunt and Preston Peglow chipped in for 14 and 11 respectively. Peglow and Hunt added six and five assists.
