Barn fire in Luxemburg T’ship

Friday, Jan. 25, at about 4:42 a.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the Watkins Fire Department were dispatched to a barn fire at the address of 15234 150th Street in Luxemburg Township. This location is about 4.5 miles northwest of Kimball. A barn which had tractors and calves had caught fire, possibly from heating lamps used to keep calves warm. The barn belonged to Ronald Molitor of Watkins. Five calves died in the fire. The barn was severely damaged. 


Drug arrest in St. Cloud


Thursday, Jan. 24, the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force arrested a suspect who arrived on the Eastbound Amtrak train on outstanding warrants. The suspect was identified as jason Alan Folland, 38. Folland lists an address of 1950 North Camino Altar, Tuscon, Ariz.

Investigators received an anionymous tip that Folland would be traveling from the state of Oregon to
St. Cloud on the Eastbound Amtrak train, “the Empire Builder” and that he had active felony warrants out of Hennepin County. Investigators learned that Folland was wanted for a driving offense and a 2009 felony theft warrant. Investigators were also told he may be in possessi9n of controlled substances.


Investigators met the 5:15 a.m. train and observed Folland get off the train with a large black rolling duffle bag. Folland was taken into custody on his warrants and transported to the Benton County Jail for booking. As part of the booking process, his belongings were inventoried and it was discovered that he was transporting marijuana in the duffle bag. The seized the suspected marijuana and discovered 33 total pounds of marijuana having an approximate street value of $130,000. Folland is expected to be charged with third-degree possession of controlled substance and is currently being held in the Benton County Jail.

Wright County Sheriff’s Office

Jan. 22 Kimberly Sue Durand, 27 of Maple Lake, was charged with third-degree DWI.

Jan. 24 Joseph Daniel Zeidler, 24 of Annandale, was charged with felony possession of a weapon.

Jan. 24 Brady James Brower, 38 of South Haven, was charged with felony theft.

Jan. 26, Heather May Magnuson, 23 of Annandale, was arrested in Annandale on the charge of third-degree DWI.

There were 12 property-damage accidents, 3 personal-injury accidents, and 6 car-deer accidents.

There were 8 arrests for DWI,
9 underage-consumption arrests,
1 school bus stop-arm violations, and 53 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations reported this week.


Meeker County Sheriff’s Office

Sunday, January 27

10:55 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a medical at Hilltop Care Center on Luella Street, Watkins. One individual was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.


1:05 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted an individual at a residence on Western Avenue North, Watkins, who had questions reference a power of attorney.


1:58 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a cellular 9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle in the ditch on County Road 44, Kimball, in Stearns County. The information was transferred to Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

2:00 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, for a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Birchdale Road, Fairhaven Township. Watkins Ambulance was canceled a short time later.

2:33 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a custody issue at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins. The deputy documented the information.

4:11 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle off the roadway in the area of County State Aid Highway 34 and 350th Street, Forest Prairie Township. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

8:01 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed an occupied stalled vehicle near a residence on MN Highway 15, Kingston Township. The deputy made contact with the driver who already had a tow en route to assist in removing the vehicle out of the ditch.

8:10 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed an occupied stalled vehicle near a residence on MN Highway 15, Kingston Township. The deputy made contact with the driver and assisted in contacting a tow company to remove the vehicle from the ditch. The MN State Patrol also made contact and filed a state accident report for the driver.

10:29 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched the Litchfield Fire Department for a carbon monoxide alarm at a residence on 315th Street, Forest City Township. The Litchfield Fire Department did find low level readings that were possibly caused by a running vehicle in the home’s garage and assisted in airing out the residence.

10:58 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office observed an occupied stalled vehicle near Kingston Auto, US Highway 12, Dassel Township. The deputy made contact with the driver and assisted by contacting a tow and standing by while the vehicle was removed from the ditch.

Saturday, January 26

10:03 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and dispatched Gold Cross Ambulance, Dassel Rescue and Life link Helicopter to a sledding accident at a residence on 700th Avenue, Kingston Township. One seven year old juvenile was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by Life link Helicopter with a severe head injury from striking a tree.

11:27 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a civil matter at a residence on Western Avenue North, Watkins. The individual was advised of their options.

12:00 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, for a medical at a residence on County Road 8, Kimball. There was no transport.

4:26 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, for a medical at Powder Ridge Ski Hill on 93rd Avenue, Kimball. One individual was transported to the
St. Cloud Hospital.


5:17 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a civil matter at a residence on Church Street, Watkins. The deputy advised the individual of their options.

9:30 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on 587th Avenue, Manannah Township. Deputies arrived and after investigation they arrested Erik Michael Fauskee, age 50, of Battle Lake, for fifth-degree domestic assault and interference with a 911 call.

Friday January 25

4:45 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office, per the request of Stearns County, dispatched Watkins Fire Department for a barn fire at a farm on 150th Street in Luxemburg Township, Stearns County. A short time later Eden Valley Fire Department and Kimball Fire Department were contacted for mutual aid. Upon arrival Watkins Fire Department requested a cancel for Eden Valley and Kimball Fire Departments, as it was a small barn and it was already on the ground.

8:30 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office issued a deer possession tag to an individual at a residence on MN Highway 24, Forest City Township. The deer had been struck by a vehicle.

2:34 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted Stearns County Sheriff’s Office with an injured dog north of MN Highway 55 on the TTT Road in Stearns County.

3:57 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting the repossession of a vehicle at a residence on 380th Street, Manannah Township.

8:48 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, for a medical at Powder Ridge Ski Resort, 93rd Avenue, Kimball. One individual was transported to the
St. Cloud Hospital.


10:08 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Watkins Ambulance, per the request of the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, for a medical at a residence on 93rd Avenue, Kimball. Stearns County Sheriff’s Office canceled the Watkins Ambulance prior to arrival.

Thursday, January 24

7:18 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a car/deer accident on County State Aid Highway 2, Forest Prairie Township.  No injuries were reported and a deer possession tag was issued to an individual for the deer.

11:17 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received information of suspicious activity near a residence on Circle View Drive, Dassel.  Through follow up investigation it was learned it was a newspaper delivery vehicle and all was okay.

1:50 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on MN Highway 22, Eden Lake Township, Stearns County.  One individual was transported to the Paynesville Hospital.

4:14 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a dog complaint at a residence on Meeker Avenue North, Watkins.  The deputy advised he would keep an eye out for the loose dog.

7:03 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist St. Cloud Police Department with attempting to locate a party at an address on 657th Avenue, Forest Prairie Township.

9:08 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Eden Valley Fire Department for a smell of gas complaint at a residence on Hutcheson Avenue East, Eden Valley. Prior to arrival, the fire department was cancelled by law enforcement that was on scene.

Wednesday, January 23

7:10 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a request to check the welfare of an individual at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.  A deputy responded and found all to be okay.

9:20 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a theft from a vehicle outside a residence on Stearns Avenue North, Watkins.

11:51 a.m. a Sheriff’s Deputy observed a smoldering fire near a residence on County State Aid Highway 2, Forest Prairie Township.  Contact was made with the owner who was going to take care of the issue.

12:41 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office took a report of theft by check at a residence on Western Avenue North, Watkins.

3:07 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and dispatched Eden Valley Fire Department to a report of a fire at RIE Coatings, Logeais Street, Eden Valley.  The fire was extinguished prior to the fire department’s arrival.

3:20 p.m. a Sheriff’s Deputy came across an abandoned vehicle near the intersection of Logeais Street and Meeker Avenue East, Eden Valley.  The vehicle was off the roadway and not a hazard.

7:57 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and took a report of a domestic at an address on 330th Street, Kingston Township. Upon arrival deputies mediated the situation and one individual left for the night.

Tuesday, January 22

7:16 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a cellular 9-1-1 call in regards to unsafe conditions on MN Highway 22 north of Eden Valley, Stearns County.  The caller was transferred to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

8:48 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and dispatched Litchfield Fire Department to a report of a rekindle of a house fire on 330th Street, Forest City Township.  The fire department was able to extinguish the fire.

11:06 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to and dispatched Watkins Ambulance to a report of an unresponsive individual at a residence in the Watkins Trailer Park, Watkins.  The Meeker County Medical Examiner was called to the scene and a report will be filed.

3:49 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a dog complaint near Fran’s Repair, 4th Street North, Watkins. The loose dog was back inside a vehicle upon the deputy’s arrival.

6:19 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office assisted the public at a residence on 355th Street, Forest Prairie Township.

10:33 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Meeker Stearns Street, Manannah Township.  Upon arrival of the deputy the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Monday, January 21

2:25 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office dispatched Eden Valley Rescue and Watkins Ambulance to a medical at a residence on Coleman Avenue East, Eden Valley. One individual was transported to Paynesville Hospital.
