Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7:59 a.m., the Annandale Police Department was dispatched to a residence on Poplar Avenue North in Annandale where 42-year old Kyle Greene was found dead in his house. The case is being investigated by Annandale Police, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
Sunday, Sept. 29, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of Kyle Greene was homicide. That same day, two persons were arrested in connection with Greene’s death. Tyler James Fisher, 19 of Annandale, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Samara Leigh Juhl, 19 of Otsego, also was arrested. Both remain in Wright County Jail, and both were charged with aggravated robbery.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information about the death is asked to call the Annandale Police Department or the Wright County Sheriff at (763) 682-1162. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Monday, Sept. 30, at 7:08 a.m., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Dassel Fire Department, Dassel Rescue, Gold Cross Ambulance, Minnesota Department of Transportation, and Minnesota State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries near the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and 735th Avenue, in Dassel Township. Bruce Resch, 50 years old, from Royalton, Minn., was driving a 2007 Peterbilt Semi pulling an empty flatbed trailer eastbound on U.S. Highway 12, when it collided with a 2006 Volkswagen passenger car driven by Kristofor Tanner, 23 years old, from Dassel.
The driver of the Volkswagen died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained during the crash, and the driver of the semi, Bruce Resch, was not injured. There were no passengers in either vehicle. This crash is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
Fire in Clearwater home
Wednesday, Sept. 18, Stearns
County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a house fully engulfed in flames at 232 Englewood Road, Lynden Township, in Clearwater. No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The home is owned by Robert and Janet Moeller.
Fire departments from Clear-water, Clear Lake, and St. Augusta extinguished the fire.
The Clearwater Fire Department will investigate the cause of the fire, which may have been a wood-burning appliance.
Janelle P. Kendall appointed Minnesota State Director of National District Attorney Association
Janelle P. Kendall, Stearns County Attorney, was appointed the Minnesota State Director of the National District Attorney Association (NDAA) at the Minnesota County Attorney Association board meeting last week.
Kendall has been a member of the MCAA Board of Directors for 14 years and was president in 2009. She received the 2010 Johnson Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding service and leadership to the profession. “She is a strong advocate for prosecutors and the communities they serve and will be the voice of Minnesota Prosecutors at the NDAA,” said MCAA Executive Director John Kingrey.
The National District Attorneys Association is the oldest and largest professional organization representing criminal prosecutors in the world. Its members come from the offices of district attorneys, state’s attorneys, attorneys general, and county and city prosecutors with responsibility for prosecuting criminal violations in every state and territory of the United States.

There were a total of 54 police calls in Watkins during the month of August 2013. (Watkins is policed by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.) Among them were 6 medical calls, 6 complaints of suspicious vehicles/persons, 4 animal complaints, 4 agency assists, 3 disturbance complaints, 3 traffic stops (resulting in 2 warnings and 1 citation), 2 911 hangups, 2 assist the public, 2 forgeries (plus 1 theft by forged check), 2 harassment/stalking complaints, 2 noise complaints, 2 warrants; and there were 1 each of the following: welfare check, child abuse/maltreatment, civil complaint, domestic call, driving complaint, fire call, drunk driver investigation, juvenile trouble, property-damage accident, security check, sex crime offense, suicide attempt, tampering with motor vehicle, unwanted individual, and vulnerable adult.
Car crash caused by bee
Thursday, Sept. 12, just before noon, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-car rollover on CR 133 just NE of 322nd Street in St. Wendel Township.
Dylan Mendel, age 19 of St. Cloud, was driving a 2002 silver Jeep Wagon northeast on CR 133 when he was distracted by a bee inside the car. When Mendel was distracted, he drove his car off the road into the right ditch. Losing control of the car caused the car to roll over. Mendel was taken to St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross where he was treated for his injuries.
