The Central Minnesota Conference Track & Field Sub-Sections took place at Litchfield, Tuesday, May 20. Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball has 19 tracksters moving on to sections next week. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished second in the eight-team meet. Litchfield won the women’s division, and New London-Spicer took the men’s division.
The Kimball Cubs’ baseball team managed to get in five games last week. First up was a doubledip with visiting Maple Lake, followed by a twin bill at Elrosa, vs. B-B-E, and finally back home for a battle with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.
Game one against Maple Lake was controlled by the Irish. The Cubs managed just three hits, while the Irish put up 13 on way to a 14-1 victory. The Cubs’ three hits were by Joe VonWahlde, Mitch Klein, and Brady Faber.

The boys’ and girls’ basketball programs will once again be running basketball camps for students of all age levels this summer. Coach Jeremy Kuechle and coach Jay Klein will be in charge of the camps. Players will receive group instruction and individual instruction in all fundamental areas of the game of basketball. Shooting will be the main emphasis of the camp, but players will also improve their skills in ball handling, passing, rebounding, defense, etc. All students are encouraged to attend even if they have little or no previous experience.

The Meet Medalist honors went to Rockford’s Ben Skinner, who finished with an impressive 39.
