The Section 6A Cross Country Tournament was held at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle High School, Thursday, Oct. 24. Eden Valley-Watkins-Kimball team fought a fairly substantial chilly and wet milieu, but emerged in a respectable ninth place, in the middle of the pack. “It was cold and sleeting – but a good race nonetheless. Emily is advancing to the State meet on Saturday, Nov. 2, as an individual,” said Coach Holly Hansen.
The Kimball Area volleyball team lost to Royalton Friday, Oct. 25, 3-1. The set scores were (26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21). After drawing a first-round bye in the Section 5A volleyball playoffs, the number two-seeded Kimball Cubs lost a tough battle to a formidable Royalton Royals squad, seeded at number three.

Wrestlers can sign up
The Kimball Wrestling Booster Club will be registering youth wrestlers from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Kimball Area High School. An informational meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
The fee for youth wresting is $30 per wrestler. Registration forms will be available that night.
The Kimball Area football team left the post-season competition early. Opening the Section 4A quarterfinals action Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Belgrade, the seventh-seeded Cubs lost a tough one to the number two-seeded Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars, 21-13. Kimball Area jumped out early and grabbed a first-quarter 7-0 lead. But Austin Kollman’s 135 yards rushing and two touchdowns proved enough for the Jaguars to claim victory and move forward into the next round.

Kimball (12-13-0) has a bye for the first playoff (Oct. 24) in the volleyball playoffs. The Cubs will first play Friday, Oct. 25, against either Royalton or Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City who play Oct. 24. The Kimball game is at 7 p.m. this Friday, at Kimball. If they win, their next game, for the quarterfinals, will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Long Prairie.
Eden Valley-Watkins (7-15-0) will face St. Cloud Christian at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Eden Valley. The winner will advance to face Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 7 p.m.Friday, Oct. 25, at BBE. The winner of that game will play for the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Long Prairie.
