KAHS Trap Team qualifies June 6 for state

Friday, June 6, the Kimball Area High school Trap Team traveled to Alexandria to compete against the 66 teams that make up the class A division. They sent 18 shooters and our top five qualified as a team finishing in the top nine. The  Shooters on W-Kimball-Trap-Teamthe State Tournament team are Cole Czech, Isaiah Ehlinger, Matt Donnay, Zach Stein and Jake Borman.

Backups will be Samuel Ehlinger and Tanner Schreifels. Coaches are Rob Kuechle and Mike Truenow. This is pretty awesome being this is the first year we have competed. Also, none of this would have been possible without all the support from the Kimball Rod and Gun Club.

Kimball Rod and Gun Club receives more than $8,500 in NRA grant money

The NRA Foundation holds their own raffles every year to help raise money for clubs like ours. It is local dollars that were donated to them and returned back to local organizations. The NRA Foundation donated $4,500 to purchase a new clay target thrower and also donated a W-Team-Pic-3-NRAPromatic Thrower to the Kimball Rod and Gun Club. We just finished our Youth/Education Facility and are in the process of building three new trap fields with all new throwers. We needed trap improvements to support our rising number of youth shooters like our local Kimball Area High School Trap Team. We would like to give a big “THANK YOU” to the NRA Foundation and their generous donation. Submitted photo.
