Project New Hope to be presented April 13

Kingston Lions have asked Don Pals of Project New Hope to come and speak about Project New Hope retreats at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Kingston Community Center. Everybody is welcome to come and hear him; there is no charge.

Offering new hope to veterans and their families through weekend retreats. At Project New Hope, we are driven by our mission: To provide veterans and their families the education, training and skills necessary to manage their lives after wartime service.

Kimball Lions receive service awards

Dean Mozena, Gene Gohmann, Ben Lutgen, and Carl Hoffman were awarded 30-year certificates at the Kimball Lions at their annual W-IMG 4035awards banquet Monday evening, March 25. President Duane Finger commented of these four charter members, “Without them, we wouldn’t exist.” Listed below are many other award recipients. Staff photos by Jean Doran Matua. Veterans Memorial still accepting orders

The Eden Valley American Legion, Post 381, is still accepting orders for new markers at the Memorial Park. Memorial blocks ordered now will be placed in the park next spring before Memorial Day. The 16”x8”x3” block made of granite and containing the name of the veteran, the branch of service, and the era that he or she served. The only requirement is that the person has served his country in the Armed Service of the United States of America. It is not necessary to be a member of the American Legion.

Any veteran from any era, living or deceased can be acknowledged in our veterans’ path of honor.

Kimball Legion Auxiliary meets April 9

The Kimball American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9.

This will be at the Kimball Legion Hall.
